AP’s Etikoppaka tableau wins award - first credit in 30 years

Vijayawada: For the first time in 30 years, Andhra Pradesh has won the award for its tableau at the Republic Day Parade in the national capital.

The tableau featuring the Etikoppaka toys was awarded the third prize in the Jury category. Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan congratulated those who made this possible.

The tableau, showcasing the significance of the state's handicrafts and symbolizing Andhra Pradesh's rich cultural heritage, was designed using the iconic Etikoppaka toys.

The state’s Information and PR department oversaw the process of crafting the tableau. It featured a statue of Lord Ganesha at the front and Lord Venkateswara at the rear, flanked by the Bobbili Veena and traditional Telugu jewellery.

Notably, as the tableau moved during the RD Parade in Delhi, a song highlighting the beauty of the Etikoppaka toys was played, describing the exhibits as "toys of Andhra Pradesh, dolls that teach knowledge, toys that bring joy, toys that express devotion, and toys that celebrate handcrafts and nature’s colours."

Netizens shared the tableau widely on social media platforms, with many setting it as their display picture. Additionally, the Etikoppaka tableau received tremendous support in online polls.
