Vijayawada: In view of the Sankranti festival, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) has decided to operate special buses to accommodate the rush. Managing Director D. Tirumala Rao announced that the corporation will run special buses from January 8 to 13. A total of 2,153 buses will be operated from Hyderabad to various destinations in the state, including 375 buses from Bangalore and 300 buses from Vijayawada.
For the return journey, a total of 3,200 special buses will be operated from January 16 to 20. No additional charges will be levied on the ticket prices for special buses, which will remain the same as the normal fares. Passengers booking round-trip tickets will receive a 10% discount on the total fare.
Advance booking for tickets is also available for passengers. All arrangements have been made to ensure smooth operations of the special buses, the MD stated.
