Vijayawada: Terming the news of an 11-year-old girl being raped in Bapatla as false, sub-divisional police officer G. Ramanjaneyulu condemned the information being circulated in vernacular news channels. He said a case has been booked against a 60-year-old man for allegedly misbehaving with the minor girl.
Disclosing the details of the case to media persons on Monday, Ramanjaneyulu said the Bapatla urban police registered a case against the 60-year-old accused Badugu Nageswara Rao of Rajiv Nagar. He added that the police launched a probe and vowed strict action against the accused.
The official warned that the department would take strict action against those who publish false and unconfirmed news.
