Vijayawada: Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), a statutory body under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, will showcase the energy efficiency milestones related to Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Telangana states at the Fourth International Conference on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) scheduled to be held at Chitrakoot in Madhya Pradesh from November 22 to November 24.
BEE Southern India media adviser A. Chandrasekhar Reddy said the bureau’s energy efficiency programmes have provided tangible clean energy solutions, contributing to sustainable development and addressing climate change. He underlined that these achievements have recently been showcased at the South Asia Clean Energy Forum 2024 organised by USAID in Jaipur in collaboration with Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL).
Chandrasekhar Reddy pointed out that the Chitrakoot conference will provide a platform for BEE to share key case studies and success stories from the southern region of India. The conference will particularly highlight the role of Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, Karnataka and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands in driving energy efficiency at the grassroots level.
The BEE Southern India media adviser said these states have set an example for the rest of the country in achieving SDG targets through efficient energy management.
