Best tourist attractions in AP for long weekend
Vijayawada: Those looking for an outing for the long weekend will have choices in the form of several tourist attractions in Andhra Pradesh.
The thick growth of vegetation, deep valleys and high ranges dotted with hills are the attractions of Maredumilli in Alluri Sitarama Raju district. It gives visitors cool and pleasant environs.
Those who drive from Rampachodavaram towards Maredumilli and beyond, up to Gudisa on the ghat road, will be treated to the thick growth of plantations on either side of the road.
The AP forest department is running community-based ecotourism projects like Vana Vihar and Jungle Star, wherein waterfalls from the local streams are a treat to the eye. Visitors can have a rendezvous with the surf-like waters.
Those looking for adventurous trekking and sighting of wild animals in the forest area would drive up to the Papikonda National Park.
Those from erstwhile Krishna and Guntur districts have a favourite location, namely the Kondaveedu Nagara Vanam in the Palnadu district. Motorists can enjoy the winding ghat road view as also a panaromic view of the green valleys. They will also be treated to the Kondaveedu Fort relics.

Palnadu DFO Ramachandra Rao said, “Kondaveedu Nagara Vanam is a good place for families to visit and have some fun. Though the rains are a dampener, we are getting ready to open it for the weekend.”
