Bhavani Deeksha 2024 app launched at Vijayawada Durga Temple

System to facilitate hassle-free darshan and Deeksha ritual

VIJAYAWADA: Endowments Minister Anam Ramnarayana Reddy on Saturday launched the ‘Bhavani Deeksha 2024’ mobile app to ensure hassle-free Deeksha relinquishment for Bhavani devotees at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam (SDMSD) temple from Dec 21 to 25.

Ramnarayana Reddy, along with principal secretary (endowments) S Satyanarayana and Durga temple EO KS Rama Rao, unveiled the mobile application poster at the temple premises.

Ramnarayana Reddy said the mobile application developed by Amaravathi Software Innovations Pvt Ltd provides comprehensive information on the services available to the devotees. It guides devotees to access details such as ticketing counters, darshan queue lines, prasadam counters, and other services at the Durga temple.

The app also allows Bhavani devotees arriving at the temple to relinquish their Deeksha by registering the time and date of their darshan.

“The app will enable the authorities to track the total number of Bhavani devotees who visit the temple to relinquish their Deeksha,” the minister said.

Elaborating on the arrangements made for Deeksha relinquishment at the temple, Ramnarayana Reddy stated: “The government has made foolproof arrangements to provide hassle-free darshan for Bhavani devotees. It is estimated that at least five to six lakh Bhavanis from the two Telugu states, as well as Odisha, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka, will visit the Durga temple to relinquish their Deeksha between Dec 21 and 25.”

He said queue lines and holding areas are being set up to tackle the devotee rush. Instructions have been given to provide bottled drinking water along with water packets to devotees in the queue lines. Further, three homa gundams will be set up at temple premises for Bhavanis coming to relinquish deeksha at the temple.
