She highlighted the tax exemption increase to ₹12 lakh as a major relief for the middle class.
Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav welcomed the 12.9% budget increase for healthcare and lauded key initiatives like telemedicine, digital diagnostics, AI-based services, and broadband expansion in primary health centres (PHCs). He also highlighted the plan to create 75,000 new medical education seats over five years, helping achieve the 1:1,000 doctor-patient ratio by 2030.
Yadav further welcomed the establishment of 200 daycare cancer centres in district hospitals and National Centres of Excellence for Skilling in Manufacturing, which will ensure eco-friendly healthcare equipment production. He also supported the 100% FDI allowance in insurance, stating it will lead to better health policies for critical illnesses.
Lanka Dinakar, chairman of the Twenty Point Implementation Programme, hailed the budget as a ‘Developed India’ initiative by Modi 3.0, aimed at uplifting the poor, women, and middle class. He also praised the duty exemption on 36 life-saving drugs as a crucial step for affordable healthcare.
