BJP MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju backs Revanth Reddy's remarks on Allu Arjun in Assembly
Visakhapatnam: Icon star Allu Arjun was arrested in connection with a tragic stampede at Sandhya Theatre that resulted in the death of a woman. He was later released on bail. BJP MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju has now weighed in on the controversy surrounding Allu Arjun's arrest.
Raju expressed his alignment with statements made by Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy in the Assembly concerning the Allu Arjun case. "If what Revanth Reddy said in the Assembly about Allu Arjun is true, then I agree with him. This is my personal opinion," he clarified.
He emphasised that the law applies equally to everyone, regardless of their celebrity status. "The law will take its course," Raju affirmed. He raised concerns about the support Allu Arjun received post-arrest, contrasting it with the apparent lack of attention given to the bereaved family of the deceased woman.
Raju also advocated for stricter regulations on benefit shows, suggesting that mandatory police permission should be required. "My opinion is that benefit shows should be stopped altogether," he stated, arguing that these events can lead to dangerous crowd gatherings, potentially causing stampedes.
He further implied that the incident might have been avoided if Allu Arjun had not attended the event. Raju stressed that celebrities should seek police approval before participating in public events. He remarked that in the event of a death, Allu Arjun should have responsibly exited the scene.
