BJP's youth activists lay siege to Jagan's home

VIJAYAWADA: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha activists laid a siege to former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy's home in Tadepalli, Anantapur, on Sunday, demanding the YSRC leader pay a price for the alleged adulteration of Tirumala Laddu during his tenure as chief minister.

The protesters burnt the effigy of Jagan Mohan Reddy, painted the gates of his house with saffron colour and then tried to break into it.

The police thwarted the attempt to break-in and shifted the protestors to the Mangalagiri Police Station.

The BJP youth wing protestors, led by state president Mitta Vamsi Krishna, demanded Jagan Mohan Reddy immediately perform 108 rounds of 'pradakshinas' (circumambulation) at the Tirumala Srivari temple, sit on his knees, undergo slapping and apologise to the Hindu community.

BJP Guntur district president Vanama Narendra Kumar said the manner in which Tirupati laddu has been defiled, it seems that the prasadam in all the temples in the state have been defiled in the same way. "Prasadam in all temples should be sent to laboratories for checking," he said.

He further demanded that non-Hindu religious people should be removed from their duties immediately in Tirumala and other Hindu temples and the endowments department should be cleansed.

He further demanded the immediate removal of officials and staff who showed negligence in identifying adulteration in Tirumala temple.
