Blue Flag restored at Rushikonda Beach in Vizag
The Blue Flag certification for the Rushikonda Beach, which had been temporarily withdrawn after the beach failed to meet the set parameters, has been reinstated on Saturday.

Visakhapatnam:The Blue Flag certification for the Rushikonda Beach, which had been temporarily withdrawn after the beach failed to meet the set parameters, has been reinstated on Saturday.
Dr. Shrijit Kurup, National Operator of Blue Flag India, and Ajai Saxena, its jury member, formally handed over the Blue Flag to the Visakhapatnam district collector.
Following this, a tourism department media release announced that the Blue Flag will start flying at the Rushikonda Beach once again.
The restoration came after Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and tourism minister Kandula Durgesh ordered extensive efforts in key areas, such as environmental conservation, water quality, safety standards and improved infrastructure.
Following this, a comprehensive action plan is being implemented with regard to security, education, communication, environmental management, traffic management, solid waste management, and grey water management to maintain the standards at the Rushikonda Beach as per norms of the Blue Flag organisation.
