Vijayawada: At least six people were killed and five others were grievously injured in a ghastly road accident involving a Bolero and Lorry in NH 216 at Kruthivennu of Krishna district.
Police said five people were killed on the spot and another died while being shifted to the hospital while the remaining five injured have been shifted to Machilipatnam government hospital for treatment.
The police further said the drivers of both vehicles were killed on the spot and five occupants of the Bolero vehicle killed in the accident belonged to Tallarevu of Ambedkar Konaseema district.
On learning about the incident, Krishna Superintendent of Police (SP) Adnan Nayeem Asmi visited the accident spot and enquired with the police personnel on the reasons that led to the accident and expressed his shock over the accident.
