Buddha Venkanna Calls for YSRC MLAs to Resign for Skipping Sessions

Vijayawada: Telugu Desam leader Buddha Venkanna has sought the resignations of 11 YSR Congress MLAs, saying that they were not attending the assembly sessions.

The assembly, he said, is like a temple for the elected representatives. They should be present in the house and address the issues of their constituencies. The 11 MLAs are disrespecting the people by not attending the sessions.

Venkanna pointed out that despite their absence, each of these 11 members received a monthly salary of Rs.1.75 lakh. “The people elected them to solve their issues. “If legislators are not attending the assembly, they are unfit to continue as MLAs. They should resign immediately.”

Venkanna drew a contrast with Chandrababu Naidu, and argued that Naidu had valid reasons for keeping off the previous assembly after he was abused by YSRC members. The embarrassment caused to Chandrababu Naidu’s family led to his decision to keep off the assembly.”
