Budget’s focus on welfare and sustainable development: Pawan Kalyan
Pawan said the coalition government is committed to reviving the Jal Jeevan Mission, with an extension granted by the central government until 2028

Vijayawada: Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has said the state Budget gave priority to welfare and sustainable development, with allocations designed to support the government’s main goals.
Under the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu, the government is taking steps to reduce revenue and fiscal deficits, while addressing the financial disarray caused by the previous administration, he said.
Pawan said, “This budget, with a planned expenditure of Rs.3,22,359 crore, aims to instill confidence in the future of all communities within the state and pave the way for development. By increasing capital expenditure to Rs.40,636 crore, we aim to enhance infrastructure facilities across Andhra Pradesh, thereby boosting future state revenues.”
The Budget demonstrates the coalition government's commitment to fulfilling its electoral promises, particularly the Super Six assurances, he claimed.
The Deputy CM said the Budget includes necessary allocations to enhance existing pensions and support programmes like the Deepam 2 scheme, ensuring the delivery of these commitments. An allocation of Rs.9,407 crore has been made for the Talliki Vandanam scheme, and for the Annadata Sukhibhava scheme, which would provide an assistance of Rs.20,000 annually per farmer.
Pawan noted, “The budget allocates Rs.18,019 crore for irrigation, a significant step forward for agricultural development. In line with Mahatma Gandhi's belief that villages are the backbone of the nation, as high as Rs.18,890 crore has been earmarked for rural development, enabling implementation of various programmes in villages without the constraint of financial shortages.”
Pawan said the coalition government is committed to reviving the Jal Jeevan Mission, with an extension granted by the central government until 2028. The budget reflects the state government's emphasis on agriculture, with provisions made to reduce electricity unit rates for aqua farmers to Rs.1.50, he said.
