Byreddy calls for TS-like HYDRAA operations in Kurnool
Kurnool: Former legislator and Telugu Desam leader Byreddy Rajasekhar Reddy has emphasised the urgent need for HYDRAA operations in Kurnool to address illegal encroachments, particularly in the buffer zone of the Handri river. He called for decisive action to demolish unauthorised structures and criticised the current state of land management.
Byreddy accused real estate traders of irregularities and urged Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to take action. He alleged that valuable lands in Kurnool's suburbs, including 20 acres donated by devotees to the Veerabhadra Swamy temple in Joharapuram, have been encroached upon. Rajasekhar Reddy demanded that real estate traders compensate victims who have built houses on encroached lands, and vowed to fight for the return of these occupied lands to the temples. He suggested that victims should bring their issues to the attention of revenue authorities at the revenue conferences scheduled to begin on September 1.
Reddy made controversial remarks about former chief minister late Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, alleging that Government Orders issued under his administration favoured Lord Venkateswara, and implying that Dr. Reddy's demise was a consequence of his criticism of the deity. He also asserted that no god would forgive Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for his misdeeds.
