Call for CB-CID probe into massive irregularities in TTD board

Vijayawada: A call to probe the “irregularities” in the TTD board during the tenure of the previous Executive Director was made on Friday by Kethireddy Jagadeswara Reddy, president of the Telugu film producers council of Andhra Pradesh.

Jagadeswara Reddy is also founder head of the Tamil Nadu Telugu Yuvasakthi. He urged the TD-led state government to probe the irregularities through the crime branch CID or by posting a retired judge for the purpose.

Addressing the media, Jagadeswara Reddy said, “The government should seize all the files pertaining to the engineering wing of TTD and uncover the irregularities committed in the name of reverse tendering by the previous board.”

“The details of how much excess percentage the officials sanctioned for the works in the engineering department can thus be revealed.”

Jagadeswara Reddy urged the government to investigate under whose permission the TTD engineering department’s budget was increased from Rs 150 crore per annum to Rs 1,500 crore.

He alleged that huge corruption took place in the Rs 200 crore renovation works of the SVIMS Hospital and in the reconstruction of the Govindaraja Swamy choultry complex at a cost of Rs 600 crore in Tirupati.

Jagadeswara Reddy called for an investigation into the alleged black marketing of Arjita Seva tickets by touts from Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru cities during the previous TTD board’s term.
