Chandrababu Naidu to inspect Amaravati constructions today
Vijayawada: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will Amaravati on Thursday to review the ground situation vis-a-vis the capital construction initiatives.
Officials said Naidu would visit the capital region and inspect the status of all constructions.
Starting from his official residence in Vundavalli at 11am, the chief minister will begin his tour at the Praja Vedika that was demolished in a huff by the YSRC government. He will then go to the area where Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for the capital in Uddandarayunipalem.
Naidu would go to the Seed Axis Road and inspect the housing complexes being built for the All India Service officers, ministers and high court judges. Later, he would visit the sites where construction works had started during the last TD term for the iconic buildings.
The chief minister has said he would release White Papers on all sectors including Amaravati capital works. He would examine the ground situation first.
Officials are preparing various status reports and the CM would release the Amaravati status report soon.
TD ministers say the construction activity in Amaravati's capital region come to a grinding halt during the past five years. Even the buildings where 70 to 80 per cent construction was completed were also left in a bad shape without any maintenance.
Chandrababu Naidu, who visited the Amaravati capital as leader of opposition had been stopped by the YSRC governmental machinery.
Municipal administration and urban development minister Ponguru Narayana said the CM would visit all vital installations including the CRDA project office at Rayapudi.
The government will form committees and assess the damage done in the capital by the previous government. Since the deadline for tenders has expired, fresh tenders need to be invited. New estimates would be made for the restart of the capital construction works.
He said the tenders will take at least three to four month’s time and after discussions in the cabinet, a decision will be taken on when to resume the works.
Minister Narayana also said action would be taken against those who stole the construction materials in the capital. “The matter of house constructions in the capital is still in the Supreme Court, we will seek legal advice and move ahead,” he added.
