Chandrasekhar Hails NTR Statue as Crowning Glory for Amaravati

Vijayawada: Union Minister of State for Rural Development and Communications, Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, has said the ‘one nation, one election’ initiative by the central government will be beneficial for the nation’s fast-paced development.

The minister thanked chief minister Chandrababu Naidu for his “progressive thinking” on simultaneous elections.
Chandrasekhar along with Tadikonda MLA Tenali Sravan Kumar, unveiled the NTR statue installed under the auspices of TD leaders at the Tullur mandal centre in Amaravati on Sunday.
Chandrasekhar said, "Everyone who wants the construction of capital Amaravati and development of the state wants the rule of TD and. The statue of the immortal leader Nandamuri Taraka Rama is a crowning glory for capital Amaravati. Amaravati is proof that the implementation of Anna's (NTR) vision is possible only through CM Naidu.”
He said Rs 15,000 crore in central government funds was coming for Amaravati. “Every pothole is being filled, the dilapidated buildings will be restored with new ones.”
At another programme, Chandrasekhar laid the foundation stone for the additional two-storey expansion work of the Dr Podila Prasad GMCANA Super Specialty Block at the Government General Hospital in Guntur. The works are taken up at a cost of Rs 10 crore.
The Union minister said the GMCANA services are like a jewel for Guntur GGH, and it acts like a stethoscope around the neck.
“There are many medical colleges in AP and Telangana. Many have studied here and are working as doctors abroad or are in high positions. But, it is important to know how many of them have come back and focused their attention on the government hospitals where they studied and are offering help to develop these,” he said.
Dr Podila Prasad, Narasaraopet MLA Arvind Babu, district joint collector Bhargav Teja, chairman of the buildings committee USA-GMCANA, Dr Sagireddy Babu Reddy, NATCO vice chairman Sadasiva Rao and others were present.
