CID chief accused of dubious Dubai business links
TIRUPATI: Deputy Speaker Raghu Ramakrishna Raju has alleged that state CID chief Sunil Kumar is having unholy business links with Dubai.
Addressing the media here on Thursday, Raju said Sunil Kumar frequently travelled to the US and other countries with questionable motives. “A scrutiny of Kumar’s passport details would substantiate my allegations,” Raju said.
“Evidence to prove these allegations would emerge soon,” Raju said and accused Sunil Kumar of planning an attack on him using goons. The details of these, he said, were now surfacing in court proceedings.
Raju called on the state government to take immediate action to prevent Sunil Kumar from fleeing the country. He said the “authenticity of certain documents linked to Sunil Kumar is suspect.”
The deputy speaker alleged that several police officers had targeted him during the previous government. Some of them are now facing legal action. Expressing confidence in the Supreme Court’s ongoing inquiries, he praised the TD-led government’s “transparent approach” to handling CID cases. “More arrests are likely,” he said.
Raju also accused additional SP Vijay Paul of illegal detention and misconduct.
