CISF to Take Over Security Operations at Vijayawada Airport from July 2
Vijayawada: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will assume responsibility for security operations at Vijayawada International Airport starting July 2.
In a letter addressed to the Director General of Police, it has been decided that the CISF will take over airport security functions from the current personnel of the Andhra Pradesh State Police Department. The transition will necessitate the withdrawal of the state police personnel upon CISF's induction.
Furthermore, the letter emphasized the need to vacate the barrack accommodation and old AAI quarters currently occupied by the Airport Security Unit (SPF, Special Police, and Octopus) to accommodate CISF personnel.
