CM Chandrababu Naidu Calls Upon TD Cadres To Reflect on His Reduced Poll Margin

Tirupati: Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has asked his party cadres in Kuppam constituency to reflect on the reasons for his reduced majority in the recent general elections, even as the other TD candidates performed better across the state.

During a review meeting he held with the party functionaries at PES Medical College auditorium on Wednesday, Naidu praised their hard work on the campaign front, but stressed the need to identify the reasons for the flaws.

The chief minister said his government would not tolerate actions like rowdyism, intimidation and violence. TD members must function in a disciplined manner. He assured them that the existing cases against party cadres would be reviewed and lifted, if possible.

Naidu spoke of induction of new members to the party, saying that TD leaders must conduct a comprehensive background check before allowing them in. “I shall personally oversee such matters and other constituency-related issues,” he said.

Earlier in the day, Naidu held a public grievance session at the R&B guest house. He personally received representations from a large number of people who reached there. He directed district collector Sumit Kumar to address the people's concerns.

To facilitate this process, as many as 18 counters were set up. A total of 846 grievances were registered throughout the day.

The CM sanctioned a pension and a three-wheeled motorcycle for Vijaya Raju, a deaf and mute resident of Pedda Gollapalli village in Gudupalli mandal, who had suffered a spinal fracture after falling from a coconut tree. Chandrababu named a baby girl as 'Charani' at the request of her parents, Sudhakar and Priya from Santhipuram mandal.

After completion of his two-day tour in Kuppam, the chief minister took off for Bengaluru by helicopter from the PES Medical College grounds.
