CM Chandrababu Naidu Meets Tata Group Chairman, CCI and BCI Delegations

Naidu announces Global Leadership on Competitiveness (GLC) initiative in Amaravati

Vijayawada:Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu met delegations of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Bar Council of India (BCI) here on Friday and discussed various issues including the establishment of a Global Leadership on Competitiveness (GLC) in Amaravati.

Naidu stated, “I had a productive meeting with a delegation from the CII headed by its director general, Chandrajit Banerjee. We discussed the plans for setting up a Centre for Global Leadership on Competitiveness in Amaravati by the CII.”

“The state government and CII are planning to establish a GoAP-CII Industry Forum to implement the recommendations of the taskforce on Economic Development. Additionally, we will focus on enhancing the skills and employability of the youth of Andhra Pradesh through initiatives like the CII Multi Skill Training Institute (MSTI) and CII Model Career Centre (MCC),” the CM stated on his social media page.

In a separate post, he said, “Met with a delegation of the Bar Council Of India (BCI) led by its chairman, Manan Kumar Mishra. Marking a significant step towards further elevating legal education in India to new heights, the BCI Trust, PEARL FIRST, has proposed establishing a new premier university in AP on the lines of NLSIU Bangalore and IIULER Goa. This would also have a world-class arbitration centre and foster international collaborations, thus bolstering higher education and skill development in the field of law and allied areas.”

Naidu also stated, “I had a great meeting with my old friend, the Chairman of Tata Sons, Natarajan Chandrasekaran, in Amaravati today. The state government is forming a task force for economic development, styled as Swarna Andhrapradesh @ 2047, with intellectuals and industry leaders as its members. I'm delighted to announce that Chandrasekaran will co-chair this task force.”

“I'm also pleased to state that TataCompanies has agreed to be a partner in the Centre for Global Leadership on Competitiveness (GLC) that would be set up by CII in Amaravati. We explored the opportunity of setting up TCS's development centre in Vizag, enhancement of AP's air connectivity with Air India and Vistara, and various other partnerships across multiple sectors,” the chief minister added.
