CM Naidu calls for promotion of Artificial Intelligence in AP

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his intent to promote artificial intelligence in a big way so that every house should have a professional familiar with such technology.
The CM reviewed the Real Time Governance Society with senior officials at the Secretariat on Monday. He said AI would help provide better services to the people and it would help in finding out whether the welfare schemes and programmes were reaching the people properly and also in resolving any lapses in a real time.
The CM aimed at the state’s economic growth rate to be in the range of 15-20 per cent and directed all the government departments to work in that direction.
He said that the AP government had entered into a deal with Google so that, if the government departments could link up their data with RTGS, the tech giant would analyse such data with the help of AI and come up with viable schemes for implementation.
The CM announced the start of a WhatsApp-linked governance system in the state soon, so that the citizens could get birth and death certificates through WhatsApp and avoid any criticism of the administration's lapses in the issuing of such certificates.
RTGS chief executive officer Dinesh Kumar informed the CM that they were linking the data from all departments to enable them to create a profile for each village. He said that they were in the process of collection of data from 40 departments.
Referring to the updation of data, he said that the total number of households in AP was 1.67 crore in Sept 2024; and by January, 2025, it had gone up to 1.69 crore. Similarly, the population registered at 4.90 crore in Sept 2024 had gone up to 5.12 crore by January, 2025.
He said that out of 1.69 lakh households in the state, 1.39 crore were geotagged while the exercise was on for the remaining households in the state.
