CM Naidu Proposes Deep-Tech Centre in Amaravati
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday instructed officials to formulate proposals for constructing an iconic Deep-Technology building in the capital city of Amaravati.
“I had built Hi-Tech City structure in Hyderabad to promote information technology. Now, it is time to embrace Deep-Tech and Artificial Intelligence to take advantage of the opportunities arising out of the latest technology,” he underlined while reviewing the New IT Policy at the state secretariat.
The Chief Minister announced that the state government will provide Rs 25 lakh as seed funding to SCs, STs, BCs, minorities and women as part of AP’s Start-Up Policy.
He directed officials to issue guidelines for setting up of five innovation hubs, interlinking them with the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub for developing innovation and start-up ecosystems in the state.
The five innovation hubs will come up in North Andhra, Central Andhra, South Andhra, Godavari and Rayalaseema zones. Chandrababu Naidu said 25 IITs must be interlinked to these five zonal hubs.
The CM gave instructions to officers to formulate proposals for setting up five lakh workstations by 2029 and 10 lakh workstations by 2034 to provide employment to youth in AP. He asked district collectors to identify lands for setting up such workstations for youth, whose skills must be upgraded to meet their future needs.
Chandrababu Naidu said the state government will provide subsidies under three categories to developers of IT companies. A company will get subsidy for co-working space if it has either a 100-seat capacity or has an office complex spread over 10,000 square feet. Similarly, subsidy will be extended for neighbourhood working spaces with 10-seat capacity or 1,000 square feet of office space.
The Chief Minister said plans are being formulated for extending subsidies to companies, which have either a Rs 30 crore turnover or a minimum 100 staff strength.
Human resources and IT minister Nara Lokesh hailed the new IT policy announced by the CM.
