CM Naidu unhappy with performance of some ministers

Vijayawada:Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his disappointment over the failure of several in-charge ministers to visit their allotted districts to oversee matters there in the last six months.

Reliable sources said that after the cabinet meeting, a discussion was done on the controversial statement of home Affairs Amit Shah in Delhi.

It is learnt that central minister Rammohan Naidu explained the developments in Parliament to minister Lokesh over the phone. On this, Chandrababu Naidu has pulled up his ministers, saying they were not using technology properly. “I am monitoring the performance of all the ministers,” he said.

“I know how long a file is pending with the ministers,” he said.

The chief minister expressed his disappointment that the in-charge ministers have not yet gone to the respective districts. He advised ministers to study the government policies in depth. Some ministers confessed that they have not studied these at all.

Meanwhile, the cabinet rejected a proposal to reduce the tenure of local body chairmen from four years to two and a half years. Municipal minister Narayana said the tenure of the present members will, thus, be completed in 79 municipalities by March next year.

Naidu said a total of `31,000 crore was ready for the capital’s construction.

Civil supplies minister Nadendla Manohar urged the CM to take appropriate precautions on the construction of the assembly. The CM advised the ministers to go and see how assembly buildings are fashioned in various states.
