CM Orders Immediate Relief Measures, Aid for Victims of Achyutapuram Pharma SEZ Explosion

Visakhapatnam: The reactor explosion at the Essentia Pharma Company in Achyutapuram Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Anakapalli district, which left 18 workers dead and 36 injured on Wednesday, shook the state administration.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu got in touch with the district administration and called for the best possible treatment to the hospitalised victims. Naidu spoke to the district collector and promised the government's support to the families of the deceased. He asked higher officials and the industries department to stay on-site and oversee the relief efforts.

The Chief Minister is likely to visit the accident spot and the hospital on Thursday to meet the injured.

Naidu asked the health secretary to rush to Achyutapuram. He also ordered the use of air ambulances to evacuate the injured and shift them to hospitals, if necessary. He spoke to the district collector and ordered all necessary measures to be taken to save the lives of those undergoing treatment. He also assured the government’s support to the families of the deceased. The Chief Minister instructed senior officials and the industries department to remain on-site and oversee the relief efforts.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan addressed the incident, stating that he received information from Elamanchili legislator Sundarapu Vijayakumar immediately after the accident. He instructed the authorities to gather complete details about the incident and provide prompt financial and medical support to the affected families. Pawan Kalyan expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for peace for the victims' souls. He assured that the government will take measures to ensure adequate compensation and improve medical services for the injured.

Home minister Vangalapudi Anitha contacted the district collector of Anakapalli and made enquiries about the potential risks associated with the pharmaceutical sector. MP CM Ramesh got in touch with officials in Anakapalli district and called for a thorough investigation into the causes of the accident.

Industries minister M. Bharat expressed his concern over the incident and contacted the district collector and SP to gather details. Education minister Nara Lokesh reiterated the government's commitment to support the families of the deceased and provide all necessary assistance to the injured.

Former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy extended his condolences to the families of the deceased. He urged the government to ensure the best medical treatment to the injured and called for urgent safety and other steps to prevent such accidents in the future.
