CM Pushes for 15% Growth With Micro-Macro Planning
CM urges micro-macro planning to meet Andhra Pradesh GSDP targets

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has underscored the importance of adopting short-term, medium-term and long-term strategies to ensure sustainable economic growth.
He advised officials to set clear, measurable targets aligned with these timelines, enabling steady progress toward achieving the desired Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) benchmarks for Andhra Pradesh.
Officials, he said, must adopt a comprehensive strategy combining micro and macro-level planning to achieve the GSDP targets, as the government has set an ambitious goal of 15 per cent growth rate.
Chairing a review of the finance department at the secretariat on Thursday, the CM underlined the importance of synchronising short, medium and long-term plans to ensure sustained economic progress. While policy formulation is crucial, success ultimately depends on effective execution at the field level, he observed.
The CM pointed out that the state has already ensured the supply of key resources such as water and power to agriculture and industry, and called for intensified efforts to enhance productivity across sectors. Despite financial constraints, the government has refrained from increasing electricity tariffs, even while bearing an additional burden of `4,600 crore due to “faulty” decisions taken by the previous government, he said.
Naidu asked revenue-generating departments to meet their targets without placing any additional burden on citizens. Landmark projects such as Amaravati and Polavaram, he said, would play a transformative role in wealth creation and economic expansion.
Reassuring officials on the governments’ capacity for adequate funding, Naidu said, “There is no shortage of resources for priority projects,” and expressed confidence that continued support from the Centre would help fast-track the projects’ completion.
He also directed the departments to effectively leverage Central schemes, including Purvodaya and SASCI, to accelerate development.
Reiterating the government’s commitment to welfare, the CM said schemes would be implemented strictly in accordance with the welfare calendar. Officials, he said, must try and secure “all funds from the Centre that are due to the state under the AP Reorganisation Act.”
Finance minister Payyavula Keshav, chief secretary Sai Prasad, finance principal secretary Piyush Kumar and other senior officials were present.
