CM Naidu Stresses Accuracy in Rice Procurement Process
Naidu, accompanied by ministers Nadendla Manohar and Kollu Ravindra, visited Rythu Seva Kendra at Ganguru in Krishna district on Friday

VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has, in an advice to farmers, stressed the importance of accuracy in moisture levels during rice procurement.
He stated this while inspecting the purchases at the Gangur Farmer Service Centre on Friday.
The chief minister asked officials to ensure that the payments to farmers through their accounts should happen within 24 hours after the procurement.
There should be no scope for complaints of any sort in the procurement process, he stressed.
After examining the grain purchase process at the Rythu Seva Centre in Ganguru in Penamaluru assembly segment of Krishna district, Naidu expressed confidence that if mechanisation in farming is encouraged, farmers will not only get better returns but also can reduce labour.
Naidu said his government would help farmers make agricultural activities more profitable. “We would provide relief to the farming community by bringing them out of the debt burden besides increasing their income,” he said.
The Rythu Seva Centre staff explained to the CM the process of procuring grain from farmers. Farmers informed him how they are marketing their products.
The farmers told Naidu the yield is much better than last year and they could save an additional Rs 5,000 per acre by using machine for harvest. “We will gain by another Rs 5,000 if the straw is purchased by biofuel plants.”
When the CM asked whether the amount is being credited to their accounts within 48 hours of the grain purchasing, they said, yes.
The chief minister said that the government is also considering to credit the amount to the accounts of farmers immediately after the grain reaches the mills.
"I am here to take your suggestions on such matters," the chief minister told the farmers. He also assured them that water will be supplied to their fields on time through Pattiseema and arrangements will be made to send dryer machines to their agricultural fields.
