Collector reviews prep for Lakshmi Narsimha Swamy fest

Kakinada: The famous Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Kalyana Mahotsavams (celestial marriage celebrations) at Antarvedi in Sakhinetipalli mandal of Dr B. R. Ambedkar Konaseema district will be observed from February 6 to 13. Antarvedi Teertham will be held on February 8 on the auspicious “Bhishma Ekadasi'’.

District collector R. Mahesh Kumar directed officials to conduct the festival in a grand but peaceful manner. He inspected the areas surrounding the Antarvedi temple like beach ferry points and others.
Reviewing the arrangements, Mahesh Kumar said panchayat officials should install signboards for devotees to guide them to the temple, beach, boats, parking and other areas.
He said the main command and control room should be set up at the main temple area while a mini command control room will be set up at the beach. He said that as many 21 govt departments would monitor the arrangements round the clock for 10 days and CC cameras be installed at all junctions and parking areas linking them with command control rooms.
Officials of various departments including police should coordinate with one another. The RWS and panchayat raj officials should supervise the sanitation and drinking water facilities.
The AP Transco officials should supply power round the clock without interruption. The weights and measurements and FSSA officials should ensure there are no unusual rise in prices of commodities and zero adulteration.
He said that Amalapuram RDO will act as in-charge at Kalyana Vedika and the personnel on duties would be given passes before the date.
He said that the APS RTC would run 105 buses to Antarvedi from various places. He instructed control room officials to keep updating the district collector every hour.
District joint collector T. Nishanthi, Utsava committee members Balaji, admin S. P. Prasad and others were present at the meeting.
