Collector Warns Revenue Officials Over Encroachments in ASR District
VISHAKHAPATNAM: District collector of ASR district, A S Dinesh Kumar, warned revenue officials against allowing encroachments on government lands. He stated strict action, including suspension, would follow if lands along roads, gramakantam areas, or other public spaces were encroached upon.
In a Saturday meeting, the collector directed sub-collectors, tahsildars, and MPDOs to audit village-wise government lands and submit reports by December’s end. He emphasised conducting comprehensive surveys to identify encroachments and survey numbers.
Dinesh Kumar ordered the removal of encroachments around Paderu town centre, especially near the Ambedkar statue, and relocation of small traders to farmers' markets. He also urged identifying lands for sheds at weekly fairs and involving tribal traders through Gram Sabha resolutions.
He further suggested proposals for an industrial estate in Chinthuru and Rampa Chodavaram divisions and an indoor stadium near Rampachodavaram Residential School to boost local infrastructure.
