Collectors’ conference starting today
Vijayawada:The second Collectors’ Conference since the formation of the alliance government would take place for two days from December 11.
The meeting chaired by chief minister Chandrababu Naidu will be held at the Secretariat in Velagapudi.
Naidu would provide guidance to the collectors on various development and welfare programmes undertaken during the past six months, as also on the Swarnandhra Vision 2047 document, and the new policies introduced by the government. Discussions would also focus on strategies and goals for the full five-year term of the present government.
Collectors of all 26 districts and heads of 40 government departments would be present. The CM would gather their feedback on various issues.
Notably, while the previous government held only one such meeting in five years, the present government is conducting its second meeting within a matter of six months.
On the first day, topics such as the RTGS (Real-Time Governance Society), grievance redressal mechanisms, village and ward secretariats, WhatsApp governance and positive public perception will be discussed. The afternoon sessions will cover areas like agriculture, animal husbandry, horticulture, civil supplies, forests, water resources, panchayat raj, NREGA, rural water supply, SERP, urban development, CRDA and law and order.
The second day will focus on industries, IT, investments, energy, human resources, transport, roads and buildings, housing, health, welfare of SC/ST/BC/minority communities, women’s welfare, revenue, excise, mining and district development plans.
Ministers, IPS officers and other senior officials will also participate in the meeting which aims to align governance strategies with the government’s developmental goals.
