Competitive Protests by Jana Sena and YSRC at Machilipatnam
Vijayawada: The Jana Sena leaders and supporters held a protest in front of former minister Perni Venkatramaiah alias Nani’s house in Machilipatnam on Thursday, objecting to his comments against JS chief K. Pawan Kalyan.
The JS leaders and supporters aired slogans against Nani and demanded an apology from him. On the other hand, the YSRC workers staged a counter-protest. The situation turned tense, leading to the arrest of JS leaders and supporters by the police.
Upon learning about the JS protest, the police rushed to Nani’s house. YSRC leaders and party workers also gathered at Nani’s house. Both parties chanted slogans against each other, creating a tense atmosphere.
Nani’s son Perni Krishna Murthy and other leaders attempted to come outside the house to argue with the JS leaders, but the police prevented them.
Nani told reporters that he would not be afraid of Pawan Kalyan’s threats. He alleged that Pawan Kalyan had no substance and was making provocative comments. He warned that violent activities would start in Machilipatnam if the police remained silent in this matter.
