Create Awareness on PM-RAVATH Scheme, Officials Told

Beneficiaries can avail treatment at both private and government hospitals without making any payment

KAKINADA: Denduluru MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar on Friday directed officials to create awareness among the public about the PM-RAVATH (Road Accident Victims Assistance Through Health Support) scheme, describing it as a major relief for accident victims.

Reviewing constituency progress and receiving public grievances at the Duggirala camp office, he said the centrally sponsored scheme aims to provide timely medical aid to road accident victims and save lives. He termed it a reflection of the commitment of NDA governments at both the Centre and the state towards public welfare.

The MLA said the first hour after an accident is critical, noting that many lives are lost due to lack of timely medical attention during this “golden hour”. Under the scheme, injured persons can receive immediate cashless treatment, reducing financial burden on families.

He said the government provides free emergency medical care for up to 48 hours of hospitalisation or up to a limit of ₹1.5 lakh. Beneficiaries can avail treatment at both private and government hospitals without making any payment.
