Anatapur: The Central University of Andhra Pradesh is all set to welcome its students in its own campus at Janthaluru in BK Samudram mandal in Ananthapur district on August 12. A puja was performed to mark the opening of the academic building on Thursday. The Singanamala MLA, Bandaru Sravani Sree, was present on the occasion.
Later, speaking to the media on the occasion, the MLA said that she was proud that such a prestigious educational institution had come up in her constituency and appreciated the hard work put in by the V-C Dr Kori and the CPWD in building the campus in such a quick time. She was happy to reiterate that it was their government that had initiated the establishment of the university in their previous term. Former Ananthapur MP Talari Rangaiah, Surendra Babu, superintendent engineer, irrigation, and secretary Sri Satya Sai Water Project, district officials were present.
Apart from the academic building, two blocks of boys hostels and two blocks of girls hostels are ready for occupation. Further, one more academic building, one boys hostel building, and the remaining four blocks of hostels will complete the first phase of the construction before the year end, the V-C said.
