Depression in Bay likely on Nov 25: IMD
Visakhapatnam:A low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal is likely to be formed on November 23, said a report issued by IMD, amaravathi on Tuesday. The report said an upper air cyclonic circulation is likely to form over South Andaman Sea and adjoining areas around November 21.
It is likely to move west-northwestwards and become a low pressure area over southeast Bay of Bengal around November 23. Thereafter, it is likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over southwest Bay of Bengal during subsequent two days.
A continuous watch is being maintained for further intensification and movement of the system towards Tamil Nadu - Sri Lanka coasts, the report said. Under the influence of the low pressure system, moderate to heavy rains with isolated very heavy rains likely to occur over South coastal AP (Nellore, Prakasam) and Rayalaseema(Tirupati, Annamayya, Chittoor SSS, Anantapur, YSR) and light to moderate rains likely over remaining parts of AP during November 26 to November 29. Light to moderate rains are likely to continue over south coastal AP and Rayalaseema till December 1. The IMD asked the farmers to take precautionary measures and harvest crops before November 25.
