Pawan Kalyan Promises to Improve Infrastructure in Tribal Areas

Visakhapatnam: Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan inaugurated a series of road construction projects in the Parvathipuram Manyam district on Friday. Mainly, he laid the foundation for 19 road works, together valued at Rs 46 crore in Saluru constituency.
The deputy CM walked through several tribal villages and reviewed the condition of local roads and engaged in chats with the residents. He expressed concern over the inadequate infrastructure. “It is painful that even after 75 years of independence, pregnant women and infants in these areas are carried in makeshift dollies to hospitals, due to the lack of roads.”
“Our government will effect a positive change to the present situation,” he said and promised to visit the region for 12 days every two months until 2027 to monitor development progress.
PK emphasized the government's commitment to improving road connectivity. He promised to upgrade roads with works under the Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, including a critical 9km stretch from Bagujola to Sirivara village with an investment of Rs 9.5 crore. In total, 39.32km of new roads will be laid across 55 tribal villages, benefiting over 3,700 tribal residents.
Savouring the natural beauty of Manyam district, the deputy CM emphasized the potential for adventure and eco-tourism.
“While visiting the Vengalarayasagar viewpoint and capturing the scenes of beauteous hills and waterfalls on his mobile phone, PK directed officials to develop the area into a tourist destination.
“Tourism can create employment opportunities for the tribal youth. With over 20 waterfalls in this region, we must harness this potential,” he stressed.
In addition to infrastructure improvements, Pawan Kalyan distributed a cheque for about `4.15 crore to women's associations in the Panasabhra Panchayat, as part of the efforts at empowering local communities. He promised the residents of his personal involvement in monitoring the ongoing developments.
The deputy CM’s visit also featured an exhibition showcasing the living conditions in tribal villages and the developmental programmes initiated by the Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA). He held talks with tribal leaders and attended a traditional dance programme there.
