Does Jagan Reddy Have Faith in Venkateswara Swamy, Asks CM
VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has said the YSRC government did not give proper importance to temples and hence hurt the sentiments of Hindus.
“Did the YSRC president (YS Jagan Reddy) have faith in Lord Venkateswara Swamy, even though he visited the abode of the god? He had the responsibility to make a declaration during such visits at Tirumala, as was expected of the people of other faiths reaching there. But, Jagan Reddy did not make a declaration,” Naidu said.
Why go to Tirumala if you don't respect tradition, the CM asked in a social media post.
“He (Jagan) said that if the chariot burns, a new one will come. He asked what would happen if there was a fire accident in Tirumala Potu. Devotees’ sentiments were hurt. If you commit a sin, apologise to God. The Almighty will pardon you. It is a betrayal of Swami to do wrong and do not apologise,” he stated.
In another post, Naidu hailed the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the US. “I welcome PM @narendramodi Ji as he returns to the country after his successful visit to the US. We are lucky to be working under the leadership of such a statesman. He has strengthened India's position in the comity of nations and emerged as a tall world leader, bringing communities and countries together.”
“The PM’s address of the United Nations stands as testimony to the importance world leaders give India and it’s an acknowledgement of the significance of the role we are poised to play on the global stage in the coming years,” Naidu added.
