e-Office System Mandatory, Collector’s Ultimatum To Officials

Reviewing departmental performance, the Collector said nearly 1,500 files were being cleared every month at his level with an average of 13 working hours daily.

KADAPA: Kadapa collector Dr Sridhar Cherukuri on Monday directed all government offices in the district to handle files exclusively through the e-Office system, warning that use of physical files violates rules and will not be tolerated.

During a review meeting at the collectorate conference hall, the collector expressed concern that some departments were still processing files manually despite clear instructions issued six months ago.

He termed the practice indiscipline and a violation of regulations, and directed all departments to submit detailed file statistics by Tuesday evening.

Dr Cherukuri instructed officials to dispose of files within two days of their appearance in the login system, warning that delays would invite strict action. He also announced district-wide audit inspections to ensure compliance.

Reviewing departmental performance, the Collector said nearly 1,500 files were being cleared every month at his level with an average of 13 working hours daily. He appreciated the DRO for disposing of files within two hours on average.

He shared department-wise disposal data, stating that the AO at the collectorate takes nearly 11 hours, the sub-collector around nine hours, the RIMS deputy director about 19 hours, the DEO over two days and the ICDS project director around three days.

However, he expressed dissatisfaction over some RDOs and Municipal Commissioners taking six to 11 days to clear files and announced weekly performance reviews to ensure accountability and efficiency.
