East Godavari Collector wants parks to have unique themes

Prashanthi along with municipal commissioner Kethan Garg reviewed the development proposals of parks and ``Nagaravanam’’ projects, drafted by a consulting agency in Rajamahendravaram city.

Kakinada: East Godavari collector P. Prashanthi on Friday directed the consulting agency to develop parks in Rajamahendravaram city with unique themes and not in a stereotypical way. He said the works should be completed by Pushkaralu 2027.

Prashanthi along with municipal commissioner Kethan Garg reviewed the development proposals of parks and ``Nagaravanam’’ projects, drafted by a consulting agency in Rajamahendravaram city. She said that already Kambala tank, Danavaipeta, Prakash Nagar, J. N. Road, A. V. Appa Rao Road and other parks have been developed and remaining parks should be developed in a more value-based manner.
She said that the parks should not be used for just relaxation and children’s games. They will have unique themes to attract tourists. They should set up gyms, yoga, dance, rock garden, physical exercise, sports, water show, adventure sports, flower, bird, different artistic shapes with waste materials, medicated plants and also reflecting the customs and tradition in the city.
She said that people, in particular residents of the city would be attracted and come to the parks again and again and they should become tourism spots. She said that already the Kadiam Nurseries are being prepared as best tourism spots.

The municipal commissioner said that the municipal parks would be developed on an eco-friendly basis to protect nature and increase greenery. Municipal additional commissioner Sailaja Valli, RMC officer Abul Malik, district tourism officer P. Venkata Chalam and others were present.
