ECI failed to act like an umpire, accuses Sajjala

Vijayawada: YSRCP general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy on Tuesday accused the Election Commission of India (ECI) of not behaving like an umpire during elections conducted in Andhra Pradesh on May 13.

The attitude of the ECI changed after the formation of an alliance comprising BJP, TDP and Jana Sena to contest elections against YSRCP, he said, interacting with media persons. He sought to know why ECI wanted to behave in a “repressive” manner against YSRCP instead of acting as an umpire.

Alleging that the ECI was infected with a virus called “Chandrababu,” Reddy said a conspiracy was being hatched to remove Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy. He asked why the TDP was not asking for re-polling in some polling booths when most people were demanding it.

Exuding confidence that the YSRCP would win elections with a massive majority and form the government in Andhra Pradesh, Reddy ridiculed the TDP’s claim that the postal ballot votes were polled in support of the party.
