Educational Tourism Itinerary Launched in Vizag
Visakhapatnam:Visakhapatnam district collector M.N. Harendra Prasad launched an educational tourism itinerary in Visakhapatnam on Friday to mark World Tourism Day.
He stated that the itinerary would focus on Indian maritime, biodiversity, and coastal ecosystems.
The Collector emphasised that Visakhapatnam will be positioned as a premier destination for international tourists, ensuring high standards and world-class facilities. He also announced the forthcoming opening of a science museum, which will be developed in collaboration with various stakeholders.
During the celebrations, the Collector highlighted the importance of preserving ancient heritage sites for future generations. He pointed out that there are significant opportunities for the growth of science, recreational tourism, and international tourism, urging discussions on administrative measures to support these developments.
He encouraged the community to involve children in understanding the significance of these initiatives, stating that tourism development would create job opportunities for youth and boost the local economy. As part of the festivities, students showcased cultural performances, and awards were presented to photographers and participants in various competitions.
In a related event on World Tourism Day, the Adali Viewpoint was inaugurated in Parvathipuram Manyam District. District Collector A. Shyam Prasad opened this viewpoint in the presence of local MLA Nimmaka Jayakrishna and other community leaders.
