East Godavari to get two teams of central forces before vote counting
Kakinada: East Godavari district will get two teams of central armed forces before the counting of votes on June 4. These teams will be deployed in 162 sensitive and hypersensitive villages, along with the 1,500 police personnel who have already been deployed in these places.
Speaking to media in Rajamahendravaram on Saturday, district collector K. Madhavi Latha and superintendent of police P. Jagadish disclosed that 2.5-km radius area around the Adikavi Nannayya University near Rajanagaram has been declared as “drone area”, within which strict vigil will be kept using drone cameras.
Collector Madhavi Latha said there will be total 98 tables where votes polled in the parliament and assembly constituencies will be counted spread over 116 rounds. No one, including counting agents, candidates and counting personnel will be allowed in the centres without their identity cards.
She underlined that once a counting agent enters the counting hall, s/he should not leave the hall till the completion of the counting. Section 144 and Section 30 will be in force throughout the district till June 6, she stated.
Rajamahendravaram South Zone DSP M. Ambika Prasad, however, underlined that section 30 has been extended up to June 30 from June 1 under Two Town, Dowleswaram and Kadiyam police station limits.
Consequently, no processions, rallies and other forms of meetings in the name of victory in elections will be allowed.
