Electricity department lineman assaulted for asking pending bill

Anantapur: A lineman from the electricity department in Annamayya district was allegedly beaten by the family members of a YSRC leader on Friday when he asked them to pay a pending electricity bill. Lineman Suresh, who was on duty, received instructions from higher authorities to disconnect the electricity supply to a farmhouse owned by a YSRC leader in Annamayya district. When he tried to convince the family members to pay the outstanding arrears, he was allegedly assaulted by them. Suresh has lodged a complaint with higher authorities regarding the incident.
