EPDCL to be first to boost Mission LiFE initiatives
Visakhapatnam: Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (EPDCL) will become the first power distribution company in India to champion union government’s Mission LiFE and promote environmental conservation and sustainable development.
The company will actively engage with communities in promoting eco-friendly endeavours. Its initiatives will prioritise waste reduction, water and energy conservation, and promote renewable energy and energy-efficient appliances certified by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), said EPDCL chairman and managing director E. Prudhvi Tej.In collaboration with BEE, Ministry of Power and Andhra Pradesh State Energy Conservation Mission (APSECM), EPDCL will develop a comprehensive communication strategy. The strategy will be designed to empower consumers across Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, East Godavari, and West Godavari districts to make informed choices with regard to their electrical appliances and reduce their carbon footprint.Recently, EPDCL unveiled the Mission LiFE promotional poster designed by the BEE's Media Adviser Wing for Southern States and Union Territories. Those present included key officials, including Praveen Gupta, Member of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Milind Deora, Secretary of BEE, and AP power sector senior officials Chandram, Bhaskar and Kumar Reddy."We are fully committed to embracing Mission LIFE's potential to drive sustainable practices, stimulate economic growth, and deliver exceptional power supply across the region," Prudhvi Tej underlined.
