Every acre in Rayalaseema will be made fertile, promises Naidu
Naidu declared that his sole objective is to transform Andhra Pradesh into a poverty-free State by 2047

Anantapur: Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has promised that every acre of dry land in drought-hit Rayalaseema will be fertile after completion of the Banakacharla across river Godavari.
“While NTR started exclusive irrigation projects for the Rayalaseema, I am taking care of the efforts at completing all of them,” he said at the gram sabha at Mokamatta of Sambepalli in Annamayya district on Saturday. In a dig at the previous government, he said the entire irrigation wing was badly neglected in the past five years and, worse, the Annamayya project was washed away in the floods.
“We are concentrating on completion of these projects. We will complete the Godavari-Banakacharla project with the help of the central government and provide water to every acre in Rayalaseema. We provide incentives for commercial crops in the region”, Naidu said.
He said tenders for a canal from Thamballapalle to Srinivasapura will soon be called.
Naidu visited the house of 82-year-old Mangamma and interacted with her family. He distributed old-age pension and pension of a boy who was mentally challenged, and presented him with a tricycle. To a plea by the old woman for help to her HIV infected daughter, the CM directed collector Sridhar to help her with a house.
Later, Naidu interacted with people besides the IT employees and said a canal will soon be built from Thamballapalle to Srinivasapuram.
Naidu declared that his sole objective is to transform Andhra Pradesh into a poverty-free State by 2047. “The state is now facing a heavy debt burden of Rs.10 lakh crore. The government is successful in getting offers for Rs.10 lakh crore investments in the state in the last seven months. He promised to make the state a 'Work-from-Home' hub,” he said.
The CM said, “Necessary space will be created to provide opportunities to the talented youth from villages and small towns by imparting necessary training to them. He announced that the Talliki Vandanam scheme will soon be implemented while Rythu Bharosa too will be introduced with central support.
