Ex-MLA Anil Kumar Blasts TDP Govt. Over Student Safety Failures

Vijayawada: Former MLA Kaile Anil Kumar criticised the Telugu Desam coalition government for neglecting student safety, citing several incidents where students fell ill after consuming contaminated food in hostels and schools. Speaking at the party's central office on Saturday, he highlighted a case where 79 students from a tribal welfare residential school in Alluri Sitarama Raju district fell ill, while Education Minister Nara Lokesh focused on implementing the 'Red Book' constitution.

Kumar pointed to similar incidents, such as 139 students in Chittoor and 750 in Nuzvid, stressing the decline in welfare programmes like Amma Vodi and Jagananna Vasathi Deevena, which had improved education and nutrition. He accused the government of prioritising political vendettas over student welfare and urged immediate action to address these issues, warning that the YSRC would intensify its efforts if the situation does not improve.

Andhra BJP chief demands action on school food safety

AP BJP chief D. Purandeswari expressed concern over several students falling ill after consuming adulterated food at a tribal welfare residential school in Korrayi panchayat of Dumbriguda mandal, Alluri Sitarama Raju district.

Purandeswari inquired about the health of the affected students with ASR District Collector Dinesh Kumar over the phone. She also asked for details about the distance between the school and Araku Valley and whether medical treatment was being provided. She emphasised the need for proper care when serving food to students to prevent such incidents and related health hazards in the future.
