Ex-MP Bharat demands probe by SC judge on laddu row
Vijayawada: Former YSRC MP from Rajamahendravaram Margani Bharat Ram demanded that the TD-led NDA government order a probe into the alleged adulteration of TTD laddu to find out the facts by a Supreme Court judge.
Speaking to the media in Rajamahendravaram on Wednesday, the former MP demanded that the state government respond to his six queries on the issue.
He asked TTD executive officer J. Shyamala Rao on change of his statement on usage of animal fat in the ghee used for preparation of laddu at the TTD unlike his earlier statement of mixing vegetable fat in the ghee. He raised objection for not keeping the report on laddu adulteration released by National Dairy Development Board in public domain and releasing it in the TD office. He asked the reason for delay in disclosing details of the NDDB report as it was given on July 23, 2024, and why no immediate action was taken against the guilty on adulteration of ghee.
The former MP has asked the government as to why it intended to hurt the sentiments of Hindus all over the world referring to conflicting statements from the TTD executive officer and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on usage of ghee after finding it adulterated.
Bharat said that in case of the ghee getting adulterated, those involving in preparation of laddus at the TTD might have noticed it and wondered why the officials concerned could not notice it.
The former MP said that Naidu constituted a SIT to probe the adulteration of laddu at the TTD even as their party leader and former chief minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Justice of India Y. Chandrachud on the issue.
He made it clear that they lacked trust on the SIT to probe the issue impartially.
