Vijayawada: With campaigning gaining steam for the Feb 27 MLC polls in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called upon the alliance leaders to act in concert and ensure victory for their candidates.
“Our nominees must win the polls with a majority larger than those of the previous MLC polls to these constituencies,” he said during a teleconference he held with ministers, MPs, MLAs and other leaders from erstwhile Guntur-Krishna and the twin districts of Godavari on Sunday.

He said, “Every election is a test for us and the we have to win every election. People have given us a majority verdict in 2024 with a strike rate of 93 per cent. They trusted us. We have to sustain their trust and are implementing the welfare schemes and getting the derailed system back on track for fast-paced development.”
The Chief Minister said the government was making serious efforts to provide employment to the youth by attracting investment promises of nearly `7 lakh crore.
“We are providing social security pensions to 64 lakh persons every month while the DSC notification would be issued shortly to fill up 16,347 teacher posts. Now, employees and pensioners are being given their dues on the first day of every month. The fee-reimbursement arrears worth `780 crore left behind by the previous government were also cleared,” he said.
Naidu said the government was aiming to help educated women earn money through a ‘Work From Home’ facility. “Explain all these to the people and get votes,” he urged the party leaders.
