Pawan Kalyan's Interesting Comments on Heroism in Films

Bangalore: Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan made noteworthy comments on the cinema industry during a press conference on Thursday.

Pawan Kalyan remarked that while lead actors in movies used to be portrayed as protectors of the forest, this has now changed. He noted that holding an axe and engaging in smuggling has become the new definition of heroism in today's film.

"Around 40 years back, hero in the movie like "Gandhada Gudi" of Rajkumar played roles of officer protecting forests from poachers, while in the current movies, hero is someone who cuts down the trees and is a smuggler," said Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan referring to the sandalwood smuggling in Andhra-Karnataka border.

"It's just a cinema, and I'm also part of cinema. Most of the time, I struggle to take up such roles, fearing that I would send a wrong message. Well, the cinema is different, but the cultural shift happening is most interesting," Pawan stated.

He met Karnataka forest minister Ishwar Khandre and discussed on seven factors. In the meeting, it has been decided that the Karnataka government will be giving 8 Kumki elephants to Andhra Pradesh, which will help drive away wild elephants destroying the crops, in Chittoor district
