Fire at Tirupati’s Socrates School; 350 Students escape unharmed

Cause suspected to be electrical short circuit.
Tirupati: More than 350 students narrowly escaped a disaster on Thursday morning when a fire broke out at Socrates High School at Bairagipatteda in Tirupati. Despite the alarming situation, all the children were safely evacuated without any injuries. The incident occurred in the morning as flames suddenly engulfed the penthouse of the school building. The school, which operates in a G+3 (ground plus three floors) structure, had approximately 350 students present at the time of the incident.

According to reports, the fire originated in the penthouse due to a suspected electrical short circuit. The presence of waste materials in the penthouse intensified the blaze, causing it to spread rapidly. Upon receiving information, fire services arrived at the scene and extinguished the flames.

"Swift action by the school administration averted what could have been a disaster. Upon detecting the fire, staff immediately evacuated all students from their classrooms and secured their safety just in time," a fire safety official involved in the rescue operation informed
