Fire breaks out in fishing boat in sea near Vizianagaram, 7 fishermen rescued
Visakhapatnam: The district administration in coordination with the police rescued seven fishermen after the boat in which they were travelling in the sea caught fire at Mukkam in Vizianagaram district on Monday night.
The seven fishermen, who were rescued include, Vasupalli Raju, 36, Vasupalli Appanna, 58, Vasupalli Dasilu, 41, Vasupalli Apparao, 41, Ganagalla Yerikodu, 40, Mylapalli Yerrayya, 50, and Ganagalla Poliraju, 20,
The fishing boat fire accident happened 28 nautical miles south of Visakhapatnam. On coming to know about the incident, the district administration and the police department came to the rescue of the fishermen and brought them safely to the fishing harbor, bringing much needed relief for the family members of the fishermen.
The family members witnessed tense moments till the fishermen reached the harbor. The boat that was engulfed in flames completely sank in the sea. The administration is in the process of ascertaining the reasons behind the incident.
